“Those 5 weeks in Italy was one of the best times of my life! I made lifelong friends, learned more Italian than I ever thought I would, and I ate the best food in the world! I dream about going back every day” Jared "Marco" Smith
"Studying in Bologna was an incredible experience. My teachers were absolutely amazing. I had the best time in and out of the class. I would go back and redo it in a heartbeat."
"It is hard to sum up 5 amazing weeks spent with some of the most amazing people all around Italy. I'm so glad I got to spend this time with some great people, because my teachers and my friends truly made the trip one to remember! I really encourage all of you to study abroad if you have the chance because it is one of the best experiences and you meet some people that will truly change your life for the better!""I can't believe how fast time goes by. Tonight will mark my final night in Italy. Words cannot begin to express my appreciation for this opportunity. I have learned more about the Italian language, culture, and history, than I ever could have in a classroom in Knoxville. The memories I have made and relationships I have formed throughout these weeks will last a lifetime and I will forever cherish that. Study abroad is a program that not only immerses you in a completely different culture and unfamiliar surroundings, but also helps you grow as an individual."
"This was my first time ever leaving the country and I was terrified. I can honestly say, it was nothing like I ever imagined it would be. Of course it was very strange at first, but in order to gain something from this opportunity, I needed to adjust. There are several differences, both cultural and behavioral, that made the adjustment more difficult than I had anticipated, but I forced myself to be patient and understanding, making this experience truly unforgettable."
"I want to take this time to thank my family, friends, and classmates who have helped me along the way and encouraged me to be my best self, regardless of the circumstances. I would also like to thank the UT Italian department and my professors for creating such a positive and passionate environment both in and out of the classroom."
